Joyous celebration fans woke up to the news of the sudden passing on of Lihle Sowazi in a tragic road accident on Monday,30th November 2014.Lihle and her colleague drummer Sabu Satsha were returning to Johannesburg from a performance in Kimberley.

Sabu,who survived the accident is in a critical condition in hospital.

In a statement released by Joyous Celebration,the road accident is said to have occurred in the early hours of the 30th November 2014.”It is with profound sadness for the Joyous Celebration choir to announce the untimely passing away of one our members,Sowazi,”read the statement.In yet another statement one of the Joyous Celebration founders, Jabu Hlongwane said,”We as the Joyous Celebration choir family are extremely shocked and sadden by the news and would like to send our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family and ask our fans to keep both Satsha and Sowazi’s cousin in their prayers.”
